I have ordered an el cheapo notebook for my wife to use around the house and when she travels. The reason that I went for this notebook is that she needed a 12.1" notebook and our budget was around $500. On eBay, most of the stuff in this price range was older technology. So we went with a..... Tatung notebook. I had never heard of them before, but hey, it was half the price of anything else with the same features.
On the Kingston website this notebook is listed as having a max memory of 1GB even though it has 2 sockets.

However, the board on this notebook uses the 855GME chipset which is capable of 2GB of RAM. It has 2 sockets available for RAM modules.
Also of note, is the fact that the 14.1" Tatung says right in it's specs that it can only be upgraded to 1GB RAM.
Is it possible that Kingston is wrong on this? Is the memory limit in the BIOS itself?
