Flickering screen on 8890 when plugged into AC

Maybe someone can help me. My 8890 screen tends to flicker when plugged into the AC. When you're running on battery, it dims the brightness as to save battery and it seems this flickering is just a bad connection with the power cable. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix that?

Failing that, does anyone know how to turn off the battery saving brightness dimmer? Thanks for any help!

Just press fn/f10 when on battery to turn it up. Also, here is a link to when some of us were haveing this problem:

I also had a problem with my graphisc card at the time so it sent it back to sager and while it was there they fixed it, though I'm not sure what they did to fix it.

There was also some issues about some games messing with the internal controls of the backlight brightness. I don't know if that ever got resolved.

I noticed it particularly when playing games at non-native (ie non-SXGA in my case) resolutions. It got worse the longer you played the game.

That feature was included to keep you from over-gaming.
