Yo, Tony, is there a chance that there's some sort of FPS buffer on this driver? I had to reinstall 83.20 because of PoP Warrior Within. As you might know, its limitless to the top, and with that driver I get 'round 105 fps, during movies i get 999. Now, using the new driver, it limits at 59-60, permanently switching back and forth, even during movies (€dit: In-game movies, like the ubisoft commercial). Now the problem here is that PoP works weird... more FPS = faster game, less FPS = slower game, after it analyzes the computer before the game start. It thinks the 7800 gtx is capable of 105 or whatever, but suddenly it only get 60 = way slow game. If i downclock my proc before I start (800mhz), the game thinks few FPS, so if i turn it up to 2.13ghz during the game, it really speeds up, complete overkill. That's how the game works, and that's what effect the driver gave me, just a heads up, and a question why or how or whatever, you get the point . Thx,

Franz

NVM, fixed the problem.

To get the icon in the right side of the taskbar and the old layout:

Right-click on desktop->properties->settings->advanced->Geforce go->control panel->classis display

Doh!

No temp monitor, Dell Gonna have to use riva I guess.

In pure gaming terms (not 3D Mark) does anyone get higher FPS when installing the tweaked version over the stock on this driver?

You have to set v-sync to Off not application-controlled to get it completely off, which sounds like your problem.
hm, what *is* v-sync? Ill try it though. that limits fps, eh?
It limited your FPS to your screens refresh rate.

So if your screens refresh is set to 60 then your not gonna get more than 60 fps

Any way to fix the screen flicker when you open the lid? I mean that I open the lid of my system (when it's on) and the screen comes to life, goes to black, and then comes back. This was fixed in many of the previous drivers, so why is this "bug" now back?!

Once again these Xtreme 83.60 are the best drivers for speed & IQ on my XPS2. I was running 83.60 laptop2 version before I installed the xtreme version today. I notice right away all games played faster with xtremeG.
It sure makes gaming a lot more fun with a good set of drivers! I would put these on your machine ASAP

I tried these drivers and they seem to work fine until I Alt-Tab out of BF2, then go back in. All the graphics are screwed up and it's unplayable. I had to go back to the 81.97s

Hmm, that sounds like there's lots of quirks with these new drivers. Issues with the new control panel, no temp reading anymore, and now this.
The "improvements" on the other hand seem to be minimal. I mean, seriously, an increase in the single-digit percent range is simply not noticeable in the real world, and I would tend to dismiss any reports about how "games feel faster" as mostly psychological. I think I'll pass on this one. My 81.97 works just fine...
I dont understand why people have so many issues.

I installed them fine. Have a temp reading. Only thing it doesnt have is o/c which you don't really need if you havea 7800gtx. Just use the bios and RT if your lazy to read the core/mem

Apart from that they run fine.

3dmark05 decreased performance
3dmark06 increased performance
Games aka BF2/EQ2 - Runs flawlessly

Oops!!! This driver seems buggy. Adjusted color settings... the nvidia control panel crashed a couple of times. This evening my notebook failed to boot... BSOD. Got away with that somehow but just noticed crazy flickering upon opening lid.
I am running them with none of the problems that i have read ppl are having, luck maybe, problem is i have no luck so cant be that, lol. I'm only missing OC features but that is an easy fix. I guess we will see what the next few days bring.
in 83.20 I had,
I had total screen corruption with AA
Mass tearing
Unstability
5500 3do5 marks

83.60 I get
Perfect pic (better than 83.20)
lower 3do5 mark (4000 odd)

To unlock the 'clock frequency settings' in this driver, I install the driver, reboot, install riva tuner and o/c.
The 'clock frequency settings' then appears in the classic view of laptop display in Nvidia CP.
Riva tuner can then be disposed of.

There is that problem with the LCD flickering after stand-by....But on a good note, my temps decreased 4C after upgrading to these drivers!

Unexpected, but some good stuff..
ok, i installed the new drivers and they are working fine. I downloaded riva tuner to overclock but i noticed a small problem. Whenever I restart my cpu, my OC settings go back to their default value and then I have to change them again. Is there a certain setting that I'm missing here?

i get 70+ fps with the 83.20 and with the new ones 86.20 i get 40 fps in bf2. whats happening?
