No pricing really yet, probably less than $200 for it...its all good.
For 32bucks, you could buy the Mini-PCIe EV-DO card that I linked to from IBM...

Verizon Wireless WAN adapter software for Windows 2000, XP

I was under the impression that the existing card (PCMCIA) had to have the phone number matched to the ESN on the modem, wont this require a call to Verizon to change it out in thier system?

And have you done this?

New E1705 But No Pcmia Slot.. Part II

I just got the Sierra Wireless MC5720 Mini PCI express 3D CDMA modem today from IBM. Yeah it was way cheap.

When I get my lappy which hasnt been shipped yet, I will remove the Dell Wifi card and make use of this with Verizons Broadband connection. I purchased an external USB2.0 wifi 802.11G Wifi card to use when I am at home. I think this is the best way around the whole Express Card Slot issue. Save it for a future tv tuner or SB sound. =) Thanks for the suggestions.

I willhave to see if this card will work though as Verizon may have problems with it not being from them...

UPDATE
Verizon gave me a hard time with the modem, the first guy said it would not work with their system because he would not be able to put it in the system to activate the Sierra 5720 because the system (I assume computer program) would not let him do it. And since it was not a Verizon card they offer online it would not work.

Needless to say I said that was BS, get me another tech. Why would the T, X, and Z60 model IBMs state Verizon Broadband wireless with the 5720 if they did not support it? I spoke to another person this time I told them I have an IBM Thinkpad Z60t with the Sierra Wireless MC5720 PCI Express mini card and all support pages and download say that they support it. The lady spoke with a 2nd tier tech and came back and manually added my ESN number and charged me $20 for the activation. So Touche Verizon bitches!

This is one tiny card btw...

FWIW: Anthor possible solution could be to use the Dell TrueMobile 1390 ExpressCard format WLAN for your WiFi instead of using an external USB2 802.11g....

Nah I prefer to use the USB one and leave the express slot open for future use. The USB Wifi is also smaller and will take up less space in my bag....

Awesome, this is good info because I would like something to use for wireless broadband such as Verizon and since you know whats going on it'll make it easier!

Somms, that is a great find on the Verizon product. That will possibly make it very easy for my work to upgrade now and avoid the ExpressCard issue. BUT... by using these in a Dell, my concern is the antenna strength.

A WiFi antenna is our LCD lids are not designed to handle the CDMA frequency, nor are they designed for the power requirements of a CDMA transceiver.

After someone is able to properly test this card in a Dell laptop, please let me know how your signal strength shows in the Verizon Connection Manager. If it works then I'd gladly ditch the WiFi cards in our machines for CDMA MiniPCI modems.

Wow! I never even thought of problems with the WiFi antenna, I'll be anxious to find out how it'll work!

The antenna should be just fine with the CDMA modem, hence the fact that there is a Sierra Wireless MC5720 Mini Pci Express modem available and tested. It was originally tested with Sprints broadband service and passed. There are two antennas on the modem as well, a primary and aux connection. the Wifi antenna is more sensitive and can handle the throughput without question.

This is true. It's not like the waveguide of a radar tuned at a specific frequency. The antenna impedence should be the same and should work just fine.
