Alienware Sentia m3400 thickness/weight/GPU performance

Hey I was wondering if any of you m3400 owner's could confirm the thickness of the lappy? On the site in specs, it says 0.75 inches, that is frikkin' skinny!
But after looking at the pics, I'm starting to think that the 0.75" rating is at the thinnest part of the notebook (which is still frikkin' awesome!). But what are the measurements on the thickest part of the laptop? Is it skinnier than the m3200? (spec'd at 0.85 inches)
Does it weigh at it's specified 4.5 lb?
And one last thing, i promise
How does the GPU perform? I'll probably just want it to be able to run WoW at 1024 and mostly maxed out details, and also Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne at max everything, maybe a little of FEAR too :P
If u guys get benchmarks that'd be awesome! Or if you have experience to compare the m3400 GPU and the ATI x1400 mobility.
Thanx in advanced!!!!! I hope to be an AW user too

I'm getting my m3400 tommorow from Fedex, I should at least be able to get you some benchmarks tommorow. From what I've heard though the Sentia line is not for gaming, I don't see why it wouldn't be able to handle some occasional gaming though.

The Sentia is a good laptop, however, it is made mainly for portability and not power. If your wanting to run games like FEAR and WoW with lots of details, you need to think about the laptops with dedicated video cards....the Sentia has integrated gfx. You might look at a 5500m.
Yeah, the GMA intel graphics is not going to cut it for FEAR and other high intensive graphics games.

boourns...it's such a sweet laptop though
i really won't mind if it can't run it in high details, just smooth at any setting will be fine (WoW n WC3 mainly).
is upgrading from the *FREE* messenger case to the Alienware Backpack cheaper then if u weren't getting the messenger for free? cuz I have to add an extra 160 (cad) to get the backpack instead of the messenger case...that's a really expensive backpack...looks friggin' sweet though.
and also why the hell is AW charging me 199 (CAD) +tax for shipping?
that's some ridiculously overpriced shipping IMHO!
AW making me bleed money for that sweet sweet honey.
Oh wow they're offering a free messenger bag. I had to upgrade to that to begin with. For me I'd rather the messenger case over the backpack (no offense here) just because I think it looks less dorkier lol.

haha...really? i thought the "messenger" bag style was a lil feminine to for liking :P
the bag just looks awesome!
anyone know if u get free shipping to canada?

The Laptop is about 1 inch thick when closed and about 9.5 inches long. Although, I do not have a scale to get the exact weight I do believe they're pretty much right by saying it's 4.5lbs. The thing is extremely light. My full review of the system probably wont be up for about a week and a half because I have to go somewhere on business but I'll try and get initial impressions up tonight. I can't access the support site on Alienware for some reason so I am unable to download benchmark software so if someone can give me a link I'd greatly appreciate it. Oh, and as far as the messenger case goes it's awesome, realy nice. I got a picture of that and a few of the rig but I'll post them when I get the full review up.

hey thanks alot!
you've been very helpful!
may i ask is that 1 inch thickness at the thickest part on the notebook?
i'm guessing it's 0.75 like it specifies at it's thinnest part.
i'm not sure i'm going to get an AW notebook anymore...they almost scammed me into buying it with promise of free shipping to Canada.
i talked to one of the online AW reps, i asked him specifically if there is free shipping to Canada (200 dollar value), along with the 100 dollar rebate and free messenger bag, he quickly replied yes. I made sure I mentioned Canada and Canadian as many times as I could. He said it's free shipping with all their mobile products, not just the m3400. I talk to a different rep just to ask one more question b4 ordering and comfirming the free shipping costs, and he tells me the exact opposite. He states it's only free shipping in the United States. I was pissed
Here's the thing, I goto the CANADIAN website, and click on notebooks, and click on the m3400, it says in red "Free shipping". Now I'm hearing all this other BS and got me thinking.
By free shipping they mean they'll give you a rebate for $99 and anything above that is up to you. My shipping was like $111 something so techically if it were free shipping they owe me $12 but they mean 98% free shipping. I def. reccomend gettng this notebook.

I just confirmed that I don't get free shipping, OR the 98% free shipping hahaha...
Sucks for me, I don't think I want to fork over 2000 for a 1.73gig 512mb ram 3400m...I probably woulda if the shipping was in fact free.
How much would shipping be anyway, I know for me like I said it was $1,929.12 and that was with shipping added on and 1 gig of ram.

199 CAD + taxes?

It's a hefty increase, I'll end up paying 2k-2.1k for a sentia lol.
When I could easily pick up an Acer 8204 for a bit more (discounts)
