There's been a few threads going around by me and a few others about the HDD spindle speed on the travelmate 4404 - - its 4200 instead of the 5400 rpm model as listed by most sites.
I had been going back and forth with acer trying to find out what the deal is. I spoke with yet another Support Tech this morning and had him verify what the actual spec were for both - - I was considering returning my 4404 for the 4200 and just upgrading the ram. I had him read the tech spec as of 1/23/06 for 4400, 4404 and the 4200, according to what he read all three come with a 4200 rpm not a 5400. So i wanted to ask any current owners of any of three if this is the case..i am pretty sure the travelmate 4404 comes with 4200 rpm HDD but wanted to check with the 4402 owners ( if it was recently purchased ) ?
