I placed an order last night for an Inspiron 8600 with the 0% financing till 2005.
Today when I try to verify the same with Dell Financial Services I am told that its only for 3 months.
Besides I spent 30 minutes on the phone talking to a college kid from India trying to change my billing address. Reaching Dell Fin. Services was another ordeal. All ignorant customer care people from cheaper cost centers without proper training.
So long story short, I cancelled my order. I think consumers deserve better and this is even before getting the computer. I can only imagine how it will be when I have a technical issue and need to get some help.
Don't get me wrong, I am not against cheaper call centers and reducing cost. But it needs to be managed well. Dell is doing a lousy job!! Look at GE and learn from them.
I am going to order an IBM Thinkpad R40 and not even think about Dell again!!!
