How incredibly stupid can Dell be?

As much as it pained me, I was about to buy a 1705/9400. Then, in the fine print, I saw that it does not have gigabit LAN. What sort of moronic, pencil-pushing, bean-counting imbecile made this stupid decision? As far as I'm concerned, this is a show-stopper.

Now, the interminable wait for something to purchase...

I did notice this when I made my purchase but I only have desktops that have gigabit capabilities but no support for it on my home network. I use the wireless so this isn't really a big deal to me! But I was surprised that for this high-end laptop did not support gigabit.

i don´t think it´s a huge deal and if you go for a an expresscard 54/34 version you should get more bang for the buck i think they should be out by now

If you really need Gigabit, get an XPS or an add-on card. Sorry you wanted an E1705 but the Gigabit was a dealbreaker.

Not having Gigabit and getting an underclocked 7800 Go is what hurts. Everything else is beautiful. I don't think there are many Expresscards out there yet.

Hey, it was an option. I just pointed them out. Don't get mad at me because it's not the answer you want to hear. I don't call the shots.
