Coupon that works with XPS M170 - Page 5

Everything arrived OK. Things are working great. Reformatted right away, dell really knows how to put a bunch of crap of their systems. Running very nice now, got 6816 in 3Dmark05 stock so far. Have the 83.90 drivers from laptopvideo2go which are working very well.

Well aparently Dell caught the little flaw in their coupons, because I tried to order my M170 this morning using the new $650 coupons to no avail. The dropped the price a little bit, but not enough for me. I'm really angry right now

....but it's USELESS!!!
They forgot to include the AC power brick that it's supposed to come with AND the extra one that I ordered.
Unfreakin believable!!

Dayum that sucks! Well I would bitch like hell when u get them on the phone, maybe they'll give a coupon or something. BUT that just isn't acceptable for a $2000 laptop! BTW, did you get 2 batteries also?
Ya, the 2 batteries are there.
How in the heck could they include the 2 3prong cords but forget the 2 power bricks??
I'm so pissed I don't know what to say.
I was SO excited to use this...what a dissapointment.

Ya, she's a beut'. I turned her on, she's got 93% battery life. So I turned off all wireless stuff, turned brightness down 2nd from bottom. We'll see how long the battery lasts like this...LOL, I want to laugh and SCREAM!

Quick, how do I shut off the external lights?
...nevermind, I found it.

You can turn off the XPS Lights thru QuickSet or in the BIOS. But they really don't use much power.

Actually you need to do it in both. The bios change only affects the light during start up. But once the system loads up, the lights will revert to what ever you quickset is set to.

Hey, cool. My horse has finally left the barn today and I should be getting it tomorrow. Sub $1900 shipped not bad for a M170/7800GTX/BT/DVD-RW plus seaparate battery. I also ordered 2GB Ram from Newegg and that should be it for a while. Happy as. Thanks again to the OP.

I get to enjoy my bad boy for the weekend!

Hope everyone is enjoying theres!
