Several 4881 Issues

I'm having several issues with my sager 4881. It all started when the screen went pitch black while the blue power button remained on. The ac adapter was also connected at the time and that also remained green. The wireless lcd was also the only one lit. I quickly turn it off using the power button and attempted a restart. On the first attempt the screen remained pitch black even though the blue power button remained lighted. Of the 7 lcd, the shift, cap, and num caplocks lit up although the center cylinder lcd failed to light up. The two fans on the bottom also failed to turn on. After waiting 15 minutes I turned it on again and this time success. It lasted for a good two hours. Then it happened again. Anyone know what could be the possible cause or of any fixes?

One possibility is overheating. Seems consistent with your description of waiting. This board has many, many threads on the subject of overheating.

Do a search and see what you come up with.

Update: Laptop has been on for 4 hours and 50 minutes. However it restarts when I tilted the laptop about 15 degrees.

Hey man,

I was having a similar problem with my 4881 (it wouldn't turn off after tilting, etc... but it would do the whole black screen when starting up). I just sent it into sager, they said it was "fixed" and their sending it back to me. I should get it tomorrow. I'll let you know what's up.

Your warranty should still cover it. Maybe it would be worth it to send yours in?
