i went to configure a cx7. i am gonna be having it like everything stock but i wanted some nice airbrushed graphics.it didn't have any paint options when i tried to configure how i wanted it. i was looking at the dell xps 170 but it was more expensive and i have been looking at alienware but they are more $$$ and they dont have any cool paint options.so hypersonic it will be but...... this will be in a pretty long time so can save yp for this lappy.oh yeah how much are airbrushed graphics.i might want something that goes with the Jimmy jazz (my name and a great great clash song GO CLASH WOOHOO) will be searching google for somew cool pictures.woohoo cant wait to order this baby

Pat had posted previously that the paint options are currently offline as they are working with it. I am not sure, but there may have been some issues, or they are trying to tweak what can be painted.

I would ask sales and see what they know, or if Pat can, maybe he can fill us in on the latest and greatest information.

My system will be getting painted once everything is available.

Good luck!

Hypersonic will probably have it updated by then... but you can send it in to smoothcreations like I am. I am sending in the 5720 for complete paint job in black and an airbrushed artwork on the back.
Just email them at info@smooth-creations.com if you have any questions.

I think K1tty is going to have one of the sharpest CX7/5720 systems out there. Hmmm. I might have to think about future options. Too bad the lids are easily swappable like the XPS 2 lids were - or maybe they are.

Looking forward to seeing it.

I spoke with someone who knows a lot about Sagers and he stated the reason they are having issues with the paint jobs are because the 5720 case has some issues. If they are to paint the entire case, which a lot of customers want, they have to open the entire thing up, and the way the 5720 is designed in the process you destroy the touch pad.The companies are getting tired of having to put in a new touch pad everytime they have to paint the case so they are rethinking what they are going to do about it.

But also i am very curious what you guys are paying smooth creations for a paint job. If you have a price range id be very thankful.

luke i was talking about the hypersonic cx7 not the sager 5720 hahahahhahahah

they are the same laptops basically....dont know if you noticed
post #9 of 11
ya but the sager 5720 has a headphone problem and the cx7 doesnt.every laptop is the same because clevo like the cx7,5720 and dell xps 170 are the same.the aw area 51 m7700,sager 9890 are the same.

My 5720 doesn't have a hissing headphone problem. It seems like just some of them have it. Back to the painting thing... Boy, I hope my track pad mouse isn't destroyed. I would think that they would have an easier time doing some hard core masking than taking a notebook all apart. Oh well, we will see. Since my 5720 is my dtr, we never ever use the trackpad anyway.
