Gateway M675

I have been wrestling with whether or not to buy a new laptop now or not for about a week. Since the Douthan has been dealyed, I think now is bout as good a time as any to jump in! I REALLY like the new 17" models from Gateway and HP (I looked at the Sager, but it was too much money...almost $700 more than the HP and a few hundred more than the Gateway). I have always been a Dell guy...still am, but I really want the large screen and fullsize keyboard with number pad and Dell not only doesn't offer one, but won't tell me a timeframe for when they will. Well, I spent about an hour chatting with a great salesperson @ Gateway and almost pulled the trigger but we were a measly $47.00 apart. I am hoping to hear back from them and that they will accept my offer as I think the Gateway, which has the ATI M-10P graphics card, is a much better machine. The price they quoted me was still $320 higher than the HP, but I think it's worth it. I would LOVE to hear from some other M675 users or find a link to a Gateway message board where I can chat with actual system owners. Thanks to anyone who can share their experiences, good or bad about this system I will be using the machine to mostly play games and do Photoshop work.

Have you checked the prices of the 675 lately? sheeeeeesh.......up up up!

actually if you look, they got cheaper, they now add 1024@400 mhz on the xl, and a 17" screen on the customizable cs!

I just ordered one! The M675xl...here are the specs:

3.2HT
Microsoft(r) Windows(r) XP Professional
1 Gig of Ram
80GB HDD
Modular DVD-R/-RW/CD-RW Recorder
17.1" WXGA TFT Active Matrix
ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 8x AGP w/ 128MB DDR video memory
Integrated 802.11g wireless networking card

The price was $2,799. I asked for $300 off and GOT IT!!!! I didn't know they would deal. So I bought it. Ship date is the 31st, but since it is a stock system, I hope it will be here sooner!
