Hi All, I have just been given a broken Travelmate 242LC
The model number for this is MS2138
the laptop is in full working order apart from the screen, The back light does not work and even though this has been replaced it still does not work. So at present i have to plug into a monitor to use a laptop, not the most ideal situation i'm sure you'd all agree.
So my question is this.
Firstly, is it worth replacing the whole lid to see if this will resolve the issue. or as the back light has been replaced once to no avail, should i leave it as it is.
And secondly, if i do replace the lid. Do i have to replace it with the exact same model number? I have been looking on Ebay and there are plenty of Acer's going for spares but not many matching this model.
