Microphone problem

The last item to solve on my fresh re-load of my 5670 is the built-in microphone.

It worked great prior to the re-load, but after it still worked, but was very very faint.

I went into all the different settings (and believe me there are a lot of places that seem to control the mic), but none made it better.

Am I missing a specific driver, or something else?

Thanks in advance!

Since you guys are pretty much useless, I will answer my own question.

The sound on the 5672 seems to be controlled by at least 3 programs: Realtec, Windows Control Panel, and this wierd speach recognizer that comes with Office.

In the end, after making sure Windows Control Panel and Realtec had their sensitivity up all the way, I used the speach tools menu to adjust the volume as part of it's learning thing.

Now the mic seems about right.

That was the last thing that I needed to fix after the fresh XP Pro reload.
