What makes you think headphones need to be 'burned in'? Sounds painful.

Why wait? Enjoy them now, and if you're part of that 0.000001% of the population that can actually discern the difference when the speakers "settle", then great, you'll enjoy them even more then!

id say a week before they are fully burned in under casual gaming and music.

I still don't get the "burning in" business. True, it makes the 'phones sound a little better, sometimes, faster than if you simply used them from day one. But, you're spending a week or whatever with them just playing white noise or somesuch, doing you absolutely no good in the meantime.

And of course, if you had simply started using them from the get go, you'd still end up with broken-in headphones, eventually.

With my HD 555's the sound was definately improved and got better. Its very discernable, especially the increased bass. However, I just burned mine in by listening to them, you don't need to pump white noise or somesuch through headphones to burn them in. Any music will do the job.

get some of thos eelectronic bass songs with nothing but crazy base and leave it on for 10 minutes. that'd really break them in.

LOL...I cannot believe this debate has drifted to a non-audiophile forum.

Just listen to them and enjoy them...if they get better over time - good for you...if not - you wouldnt have wasted several hours without using them.

I personally believe in burn-in from my own experience - but I dont try and make a fact out of it.

Just use the headphones as you would without worrying about these things...

I just made a playlist (that lasted a bit less than a day) from the music that I listen to and left my new earbuds attached to my iAudio X5 for a few days with the playlist repeating. There was certainly a big difference from the first time I tried them out of the box (much more bass, fuller sound).

Good luck.

why not just listen to them normally until they burn in from regular use?
