My computer just boots up to the log in screen, but doesnt let anyone log in. When I put the XP disc in to re-install, it doesnt load the cd. How do I completely remove Windows XP Professional? Remember, I cant get into a account.
Thanks a million

Is it your coputer? Did you change your password as the user and forgot what it is? If so, you can try to login as Administrator.

I've got a little utility so that you can reset the password on any account you choose (it boots from a floppy though) does your system have a floppy or do you have a USB Floppy by chance?

My laptop doesn't have floppy of any sort. Look to see if it's possible to boot from your USB. Check your BIOS for your boot options.
If you can boot from USB then that's great. If not, you'll need another computer that you can make a bootable cd and load your utility on that.

Try going into your Bios and changing the boot order and then put in the restore CD.

The start of this thread does not give enough info on what the computer is not able to do.

Error, Blue screen, Black Screen, rainbow, computer explodes?
Did it work before?
what was installed? (hardware/software)
Safe mode?

How many OS's do you have installed on the computer?

If the only OS is the only one that you are unable to boot into, the option is to troubleshoot the issue at least to be able to save and retrieve data.

If you are posting to simply take out everything and start it new, then do as TOmmyPony86 suggests to go into bios and set the boot order to pick up the CD first then reboot wit the restore CD or OS CD that you have.

Is this a new install of the OS over another version?
