so i'm building a new comp cause my freaking Area-51 m5700 got f***ed up i'm tired of alienware already cause my laptop only lasted exactly one week so i'm just going to build a kickass desktop, but i only have so much money, so can anyone tell me which GeForce 7800 GT is better for me cause i've seen tons from XFX,BFG,Nvidia, etc. price doesn't matter on the GT, i don't want GTX tho so only GT.thx.

Sometimes the heatsinks/fans differ slightly on different models of the same card or they are clocked slightly higher. Personaly, I would get whatever cost less.

also for Ram what's the difference between DDR and DDR2? and which one should i get?
7800GT isn't "kick ass" ATI X1800XT is much faster, except in OGL.
What motherboard are you getting? AMD don't support DDR2, that's Intel.
the ram depends on the rest of the system.

what are you looking at for a processor?

See my sig. My GT is an XFX and works great. o/c'ed it with no problems. The DFI motherboard is great if you plan to o/c your CPU at all.

if you are using it for gaming and want to load maps really fast get like 4 80GB SATAs 2 hitachi drives in a RAID 0

or raptors would be awesome
That CPU has 2x512K cache. You could go for the 2x1mb cacche versions. 4400x2

I recomend the hitachis because for the price of one raptor you can get 4 of those hitachis and those will DESTROY the single raptor or pair of striped raptors

"(2)eVGA GeForce 7800 GT"

Two 7800GT's are slower than an equivalent priced single card. A single 7800GTX is faster than two 7800GT's in SLI.
