A few questions about the dell e1705

Thread Starter
i am new to dell thinking about getting one question i have is is the nvidia go 7800 256 not the gtx version faster or slower then the ati mobile x1600 256mb and also how does the dell e1705 handle HIGH DEFINATION files like H.264 and 1080p

Yes it's much faster than the x1600 from ATI. Also, it can handle the 1080p as that's broadcasted in 1920x1200 I believe - if you want this to look good on the monitor go for the WUXGA option on it.

Thanks,

Lubomir

My E1705 T2500 7800 Go is slower than my Athlon 2100+ Desktop with an ATI X800 Pro card. Stock driver or Mobileforce 83.60 stock tweak.

Can you guys tell me which one performs good for games:

1- Inspiron 9300 with 2.13 (pin moded)CPU and 6800GO GPU
2- InspironE1705 with 1.66 GHz CPU and 7800GO GPU

I'll just point to my scores in my sig and let you decide. Please know that the 7800 Go is severely underclocked from the factory, and that my card is overclocked to produce these results. The laptop is stable and happy playing at these speeds.

BF2 at max res and medium settings plays at 60-80FPS on single player, if that's a good real-world comparison for you.
