Updated.

I wanted to add the my voltage is 1.340. Also this list should include the video card and perhaps a 3dmark score to show people what they can expect to get if they decide to try a pin mod. Just for the record my vid card and 3dmark score are in my sig.

1.6->2.13

never idles (i run folding @home 24/7)

Never see loads over 51 degrees.

But it is undervolted @ 1.244v at 2.16ghz

I also have ik9fangui set to kick fans to max at 51.

It also sits on top of a coolermaster notepal cooling pad.

i paid 140 dollars for the cpu off of ebay.

tonight during a 2 hour session of lineage 2 the cpu got up to 49 and GPU 81

both have as5.

I have an XPS M170, at 2.13 stock. Is it worth the inherent risk to pin mod this laptop?

I wouldn't think so. Unless you get a 1.8 745 and pinmod it to ~2.4, or the 2.0 and pinmod it to ~2.6

If your happy with the results of your current setup, why change it? Kind of like, if it aint broke, don't fix it!

Fixed wilted joint, added 2sl0w.

yeah, 37 idle. oops. I still haven't been home so I have no AS on the thing, which is why it is so hot.

and I think adding 3dmark scores is a silly idea.

Nice job. This makes me want to try the 1.8 -> 2.4 around when the waranty runs out and it may seem a bit sluggish with the new chips arriving.

1.8s should be pretty cheap too.

Stable at 2.26 with 1.196v

1.7-->2.26Ghz at 1.196v. Did 14 hours of Priming and found it stable as ever.

Played 45 mins of Fear and did not see a hitch.

CPU Temps 29 at idle and 60 with Prime95.
