Might order E1705 tomorrow, have some quick ?s for you guys..

Couple quick questions....
1. Is everyone with the wuxga screen seeing the light leak issue?

2. I would format right away, does it come with the windows disk, or do I have to buy the $8 reinstall cd on page 2 of the custom order page? Is the CD they give a real windows cd or if you format an redo it, does it have all the dell add-ins built into the restore cd?

3. Getting the 9 cell battery, hope to get 2.5~3 hours battery life, possible?

Here are the current specs.

1. Yes, the amount of light leakage varies per person. When I first got mine, it seemed to have moderate light leakage. Now i can barely see it anymore, depending on lighting.

2. You should purchase the 10 dollar CD if you want to reformat. Some people report being able to call dell and request it free, after their purchase, but that often involves multiple calls and some effort, if at all successful. The CD is just a dell branded win xp install cd, it doesnt have junkware on it. It is not like a retail win xp cd you'd buy from a store though - but the functionality is the same (and i expect that that is the gist of your concern).

3. Depends on what you plan to do with it, if you have Wi-fi/bluetooth on, the brightness of the screen, what programs you are running, what settings for battery conserve you have, etc. Obviously, if you're running Battlefield 2, that's going to use a lot more power than just typing in a Word doc. You should expect around 2 hours for average use (but then of course, everyone's definition of average is different)

What is light leak? I have Wuxga and see no problems. I aslo got 2 9 cells off ebat for $71 each after shipping and insurance. They shipped straight from Dell and were genuine.
