Sorry, I can not find a guide on how to open the laptop for fan cleaning. I can see there is dust on the fan and my laptop idle temperature is a little high. You any suggestion is welcome. Thanks.

Dell has pretty good docs on how to work on the inside of your computer, but if people are interested, I can make a big guide with detailed instructions and good pictures to go along with them on how to open and work on the inside of the 9300, I got some extra time on my hands.

Thanks you very much. I will read them carefully. You know this would be my first time to "dissect" my laptop

The first time is always a little bit scary, just be careful and follow the directions step by step and you'll be fine.

It's a pain to open the laptop just to clean the fans. I have one of those little computer vacs, and I just sucked the dust out of the intake vents after about 10 months of 24/7 operation. GPU temp dropped about 10°.

People will warn you about static, but that's only if you vacuum inside your computer. As long as you vacuum from outside the vents, the electronics are isolated from the case.

I just give it a quick burst of air from my portable air compressor, 100PSI and yes I have a very good air dryer hooked up so i'm not pumping it full of moisture.
Takes about 2 seconds and I'm done.

The best tip is to find the perfect screwdriver. Preferably one with as little a pointed tip as possible to prevent stripping the screws over time.

I'm sure you can get replacements rather cheaply (snicker) from Dell, but the less you have to worry about it, the better.
