5680 and 8890 15" UX Screen is about the same Price, so let not talking about price here.

5680
Positif point over 8890
light
dual battery (is this longer battery life thant 8890 battery?)

8890
Positif point over 5680
TV turner
6ch output for Gaming experience

No need
MP3 player

So tell me, if i misse something.

i'm shooting for the 8890 just because it seems liek it's better for upgradability in the future

8790?? Oh, It doesn't have an integrated floppy -- but everything else and the 7-in-1 reader is better IMHO.

no db9 port though

according to the pics posted by Adam, there is a serial port.
why would the 8890 be better for upgradability?
i don't know, that's my guess

it appears to me ot be the newer model, so i figured there would be moe upgrades in the future

also, it allows 3 hard drives

kivawolf, give us some more details as to how and what you want to use the laptop for.

eg. I am a rich/poor/smartass bastard that can afford l-go but prefer Sagers
School/downtrodden worker/contractor
gamer/lamer/wimp/nerd
do several chi-squared regressions before brekky/have to use a calc to add 2+2
wannabe Fellini director/make pornos/into landscape pics
investor/looser/think its cool to talk about GDP when chatting up chicks
work with every legacy system known to man and need every single port that the 8890 has on it and then some (simultaneously of course)/like blue flasing LEDs

Unless you specify what you want to do with the thing we can't give you any real advice. Otherwise I would say just by any laptop on the market. Most of them work (some are even fire breathers - go Compaq )

I am a normal student, Well, my parent can put 2000$ for lappy. All i want is to get the most powerfull lappy i can get and the coolest one too. I am gamer, if not i will buy sager. 5680 luck very nice, but 8890 have more fearturesfor allmost the same price.
So i am thinking about 2 model

5680-S with 3.0Ghz, 60G 7200RPM, 54G Wireless, Dual Battery
Too big and heavy, not very cool. I dont carry around that much but still when i do.

8890-S With 3.0Ghz, 60G 7200RPM, Wireless.
More fearture

The Internal Wireless in 8890, is it 54G??

Thank man.
i'm in a similar situation kiva

i'm going with the 8890 because of the more features plus the full size keyboard

the internal wireless on the 8890 is NOT true 54G. it will work on 54G networks, but will not operate at 54Mbit speeds, only 11Mbit

besides, it's cheaper to go with an aftermarket solution as it is with the ram.
