WUXGA on a 17-inch has the same pixel-pitch as WSXGA+ on a 15.4-inch, for example.

man i wish dell had stores so i can see differences....

your right the 600m is 14 inch and is set to 1024x768 and i think it looks great..but that not a good comparison

now i wanted to do a comparison on my main desktop i have a sony 19inch CRT and i use 1600x1200 which has been comfortable..but just to see what it like i switched it to highest which is 1920x1440 and there is no way i can use that..way too small for me.

Now i dont know if that a good comaprison since my CRT is not widescreen..

descisons...decision..LOL

You can go to a computer store and look at other laptop brand screens. That's what I did but I didnt find a 1920x1400 at the first store I went to. And to my suprise when I was at the mall I noticed Dell had a kiosk in the middle of the mall so I saw a 9300 and I found the text to be quite clear and easy to read(altho it was scaled up from 96 dpi to 120...its an option I guess). Anyway you have to remember that altho the text will be smaller the screen quality makes it easy to read.

OK I got the dell, and took back my HP.

I got the same thing you did, only the 1 year warrenty, and I got the T2500, oh and the better screen, but It cost $1,668 with $50.00 mail in coupon.

Good price or what? Oh I only got the 5400 rpm HD. 80gig

I have the same Sony CRT monitor as well - Sony Trinitron G420!
Trust me when I say, the WUXGA on the Dell I9400 & Dell I8600 blows the Sony away!

The WUXGA on the Dell I9400 definitely looks so much better than the Sony @ 1900x1200 [although I only use it @ 1600x1200 otherwise the Sony looks crap]. BTW, once you stare at your Dell screen for a long time, and then look at the Sony - everything on the Sony will look kind of fuzzy!

HTH.

i get the fuzzy look already when i use my i600m LOL so i think i know what you mean...i am sure the wuxga screen looks beuatiful i am just more worried aout my eyes and straining. I am sometimes on my PC for 10 hours at a time.

it way too late for me to make changes now...it in boxing stage

at this point...when i get laptop i have what 21 days to return? I figure if there are any major problems, like bad pixels or leakage...then i will return and go for higher screen..i will let fate playt his one out for me lol

in the meantime i am going to check out best buy or compusa at lunch today and see if i can find a laptop with 17 inch with 1920x1200 just to see what it looks like

i called up dell was thinking of adding that large backpack for $37....they said they have to cancel and redo entire order...I am like why? just add it...shoulndt mess up any other part of system..i can see if i was adding the screen or something...so they said to call accessories and get another order..did that..they dont have it in database..

what a pain..LOL they should make this simpler makes no sesne..

but maybe if i can cancel the order i get the higher battery at same time..it in boxing stage so i still have some time..but then i have to wait a fe wmore days..not only that they say i need to find another 30% off coupon..too much trouble

well i just came back from best buy to look at thier laptops to get comparions..they had no laptops at all with 1920x1200, but they did have a toshiba and hp with 17inch wide using 1440x900

I was playing with them for a bit,..and was easy on my eyes...

my only concern i guess would be both models said it had some special briteview or truebrite display..which i am guessing is equivalent to tuelife WUXGA

wish i can get the trulife with the 1440x900...
