I ordered the Aviator GX6

Wassup guys,Im new to the boards well Ive read alot of your post but never posted. Well to get right to the point I purchased from Hypersonic, I got the Aviator GX6 which is the Sager 5660 I believe, I got it with all the works 3.06 with HT thats not enabled until the Bios is available,1024ram,40gb 5200 HD,15 UXGA LCD and Windows XP and just recently changed my color from Gold/Magenta colorshift to the purple/green colorshift.

Before I placed my order I was considering Voodoo and Alienware, Only reason I did not consider Sager because I did not know they exist at the time. Alienware sales did not appeal to me at all , they did not seem very interested in my questions and it seem they wanted to blow me off and get me off the phone if I was not gonna place a order. So I tried calling a few days later and I got someone that could not speak very good english hmmmmm, I figured if this is how the sales department was I wonder what the Technical support would be like so I looked in to Voodoo.

Voodoo on the other hand was very knowledgeable about there M-class , and sent me a nice email of one of there systems in Imola orange very nice, but there price was soooo high and to top it off the shipping was expensive considering it was coming from Canada. Then I found Hypersonic, and decided to give them a call , the guys in Tech. support were very knowledgeable and friendly and they did not seem pushy I enjoyed talking to them ,so I figured ok tech support was nice and friendly let me see what there price was like.

So I configured a system with the stats that I posted earlier and immediately came to the conclusion that there price was better than Alienware and Voodoo and they had good customerservice, and all the systems from each company looked the same so I placed the order and the wait begins. Now Im sitting at home wishing I had my system. I do another search and what do you know I stumbled across a post in Anandtech forums, PCTORQUE review of the 5660, I must say I was impressed he had alot of pics of the system basically broke the whole system down to everything that you would get upon delivery and thats how I stumbled onto Sager and the forums

I found a forum with alot of guys that have the same system that I have well Im waiting on mine hehe, but I was stoked to have found the forums , Ive read alot of the post learned alot about my system like the no. 1 most important thing Clevo actually makes the laptop and Alienware,Voodoo,Hypersonic and Sager adds all the goodies to them then sells them. I kinda figured this but had no proof until I read this on the boards cause all the systems looked alike.

Im happy with my purchase so far as reading all the reviews of the 5660 seems there alot of happy campers so Im excied to read you guys post keep em coming. I considered the 8886 or now 8887 but I had no need for the mp3 player ,tv tuner and I wanted the 1600by1200 LCD plus Alienware and Hypersonic did not carry it at the time and Voodoo did but that was even more Benjamins so I want go there again remember guys I did not know Of PCTORQUE or Sager at the time of my purchased. Also I really like hypersonic colors too, so hard to say if I would have purchased from PCTORQUE or not hehe.

In conclusion this board is awesome, a great tool for anyone thats about to make a clevo based purchase and need additional info from actual gamers and alike that bought the system and spent quality hours on games and Apps and can give you the pros and cons of all types of hardware and software, like my buddy, I told him about my system and he did not know that laptops actually had desktop processors in them, and can be awesome for games so I pointed him here after I told him about my experiences so hes looking into contacting PCTORQUE for his system but hes waiting on the new video cards and possible dvd burners and such for the 5660 he loves PCT's prices and hes not into the high quality paint jobs. So all in all Im happy with my purchase from Hypersonic, they were alittle more expensive than PCTORQUE ,but my system may have a different name but it still have the same heart

Last thing guys sorry for such a long post I just wanted to share my experiences with you guys or anyone new out there that was going through the same tough decision that I was, hopefully they reach this board before they purchased a clevo based system, only thing is Alienware markets there system more than Voodoo,Hypersonic and Sager so there are some peeps that do not know this info. is out there and they just buy without knowing some of the knowledge in these boards, but thats another topic I guess, well later guys I will post pics of my system when I receive my aviator gx6 and since I changed my color at the last minute it added a few days to my order so hopefully I will receive it around the 25th of this month. I will let you guys know how it goes when I receive it l8tr.....

Thanx Vanfanel, I have a question though have you or anyone else that owns a 5660 play MMORPG such as Everquest ,DAOC,Ash.Call2 etc etc and if you do play them what resolution do you run most of your games at especially MMORPG's I would not mind hearing what you guys run Unreal2 and other action games at either hehe

re

1024 768 seems a good all around resolution for most if not all games on the sagers/clevos/etc etc some games may run at 1600 1200 depending on settings etc some people consider 25 fps playable while others think nothing less then 60 is playable experiment thats the best suggestion ....

if u need to figure out ur framrates ingame u can use fraps
i think the URL is www.fraps.com

I play Unreal2 on the 8887 and it runs darn well :-) Many forum members play the games you mentioned... you can do a search for them using the search button at the top right....

Glad to hear you got a clevo! Hope it goes well for you, you'll always be welcome at the forums :-) Best of luck to you!
