Lost in reviews...Need advice for laptop needs...

Im probably like most, I've read a bunch of reviews and post as a silent member
but yet i still cannot decide on a laptop. just when i come close to picking one
i read another review that drives me another way....i would like my decision to be
pursuaded by the more knowledgable people in this forum

i mostly want to use the laptop for editing my photos and home videos. some occasional gaming,
so i would prefer a decent video graphics card. plus usual internet, and word processing.
i am mainly looking for a 15'inch screen sized laptop, the 17' is just way too big to bring around
commuting.

i'm looking at a budget of $1500-2400, but of course less in price but greater in performance would be great.

styling would be nice but i prefer performance.

which would be the best model to choose for my needs. any advice will be greatly appreciate.

Might I also suggest the upcoming MSI 1039:
Turion 64 bit
X1600 graphics
WXGA 1280x800 (only downside, but resellers are checking into possible WSXGA+ 1680x1050 upgrade)
All the other standard goodies.

Acer aspire 5672 has dual core 1.66 120gb sata drive and 2 gigs of ram and a x1400, its 1500 at compusa, They had it on special for 200$ less last week though. If you want battery life go with the Asus Z70Va, If you want power Get a dual core, If you want future proofing Get a amd 64 bit turion, A good model is the MSI 1029 or the newer 1039. If you can wait a bit more Id get the Sony FE590 It ships on the 6th of march and is one great looking laptop.

For photo and video editing, you need at least a SXGA+ or WSXGA+ screen. Whatever you do, don't go for a lesser resolution. Even screens of these sizes get stuffed up. Another really important thing is that the screen shows colors correctly. And of course, a good graphics card is a plus, especially when it has drivers for color correction, etc. 3D performance is a non-issue, so you can happily forego X1600 and similar cards.
