So I was looking at the 5720, they have both the WSXGA+ and WUXGA listed for out of stock. Does anyone know when they plan to get them back in stock?

I just sent my 5720-v back RMA for a non functioning usb port. That should give them one more to resell.

I called today to inquire, and was told they'd be in late this week.

I ordered a 9750 from PCTorque on Monday, 2/20, and was told the displays would be in at the end of the week. I received notification yesterday that it shipped on tuesday the 21st, so it looks like they got the displays in sooner than expected. My delivery date from UPS is 2/27.

rluscombe: Ok, now I'm jealous. I ordered mine thru PCTorque on the 19th @ 12:30am (I worked Sat night shift). Mine is still showing in build and I received no response from the email I sent this morning asking about the out-of-stock status.

Maybe the screens are just trickling in and you got lucky.

Or maybe my karma is trying to tell me something....

Wow, I ordered mine on the 17th, but it was a cash order. When I called them on Monday to inquire about the out of stock screens, I was told that they had a cut off date and if I had payed by credit card on Friday, I wouldve gotten it. When I asked if I just went ahead and changed my order to a credit order, right then and there would it speed it up. I was told no and was told I could do next day shipping, as long as I payed for it, but that the order would not get processed till the screens came in. This was on the 20th, the same day you ordered yours. I called early am as well, so man Im feelin a bit cheated here. Oh well hopefully there will be nothing wrong with my system when it finally gets here. All i can think of is this, what type of screen did you order? I ordered the WUXGA, maybe they had a few of the others at the time.

I ordered the WUXGA on a credit card. The only thing I can think of that might have affected my position in the queue was that I was having network problems when I was ordering so I phoned the order in, so maybe my order was processed faster.

At any rate, I am greatly anticipating its arrival. This will be the first Windows machine I've purchased since I bought a used P-166 in '95. I've been using Macs and Sun machines since then, so this'll also be the first time I've played games for about ten years too.

anyone have any updates on this?
Well, there has not been any change in the status of my order. It's still shown as "Building" and the PCTorque website still shows them as being out-of-stock.

So, I'd guess that the new shipment of LCDs did not come in this week.

Ok...I was just browing discount laptops...they didn't have the screens listed as out of stock. Is this just PCT that has them out of stock? And actually, when I configured the laptop the way I wanted to be, it came out to be pretty much the same as it would on PCT.

So would anyone recommend buying off of discount laptops?

I called PCT this morning to get an update on the screens and was told it was going to be another 3 weeks or so.

This is not a PCT issue or a Sager issue. It's a Clevo/Industry wide issue. You can try and get a system from any vendor Alienware, Voodoo, Sagar ... and they are all out of stock. I placed an order for four 9750 (using Sagers model #'s but it wasn't a Sager) in late November and waited until Feb. 20th before canceling. I have since reordered (from PCT) four new systems (which are the same Clevo based systems only with better video card, more hard disk, wireless LAN+BT, extra battery for same $ as original order). Remember that Dell is the 800 lb gorilla and they are selling a lot of 17" displays with their laptops. They are getting the majority of displays because they place massive orders for them. This makes it harder for the smaller guys to get their orders filled.

So I've been waiting 3 months (previous order plus new order delay) now and hope that in the next 2 or 3 weeks we will get our systems. I could have ordered a Dell XPS or 9400 but they just aren’t as powerful.

Wish me luck

I'm not totally sure it's Dell's fault. They don't use the same brand of screen as this machine, do they?
I don't think so...just cause the WUXGA 61Hz issue is unique to the Sager and i've not heard anything from the dell forums about this, they're all 60hz...my 2c.

Wow, I called yesturday and was still told it would be another 1.5 weeks until the screens arrive. I'm really REALLY hoping it's not going to be another 3 weeks or so. Sad part is that I was told last week that they would be instock last Friday and that my Sager would ship today that doesn't seem as if it's going to happen.

I did call Luke yesturday to confirm a "scheduled" ship date of these LCD's from what I was told the parts were expected to be recieved in about a week and a half. That 3 weeks that you speak of sleepy makes me nervous.

Hopefully in the next 2 weeks or less I have my DTR as I need to go on a buisness trip and was planning on showing the guys from work this sager so that I can convince our CAD guys to switch from the m70s . It's a nice laptop, but aren't going to want to hear that yes I ordered it but no one is sure exactly "when" it will arrive, it will just get here when it gets here. I would rather be able to show them!
