That didn't last long. Probably no more than 6 months :O

Now the question is, will the Go 7900 be out soon, and will it fit the current line of dell laptops? My initial thought is that no it won't. Too bad too.

The Go is set for release in the 4th quarter.

and for the record I have some of the Go 7800's left but not sure if I can reorder from dell or not, I am checking that out this morning

if the go 7900 has the same interface as the 7800, i'm sure somebody could figure out a way to stick it in our computers.. may have to do some kind of case mod, but i dont see why we wouldn't be able to swap cooling solutions.. use the heatsink from the 7800 that fits in our laptops with the 7900 card.. sithsome modification.. who knows.. once dell releases some next gen xps' and people get their hands on them, we may be in for a suprise.. more than likely not, but hey, we're no worse off if we can't make it work, and we have that much to gain if it does. I'm still thrilled at everything i've done to my 9300 and everything i still plan on doing.. I love this laptop as much now as I did the day I got it. .sure we'va had some arguements, but any strong relationship does..

It would seem silly if they would cancel out the notebook card when the 7900go is still half a year + off

Well i have already decided once dell comes out with the next gen XPS (the 20.1' version) i will put my M170 on ebay and purchase (hopefully) the SLI monster!. I would love to get a desktop, but i am never in one place more than a week to do so.

Yep, same here. With quad SLI'd graphics solution of course.

Quad? That's it? Cheapo.

You're much better off with the Sixtuple core CPU version of the Inspiron 99 Million.

Very strange considering they still make the 6800 models.

Do we know when the Go model will actually be coming out. From that article it didn't say anything about the "Go" models, just the desktop models.

That was one short lived video card...

It's the Inquirer, they usually have vague useless info with little details or source to back up their yappery.

I don't think they will cancel the Go yet. It makes no sense. I think it's only about desktop cards.
that was really quick, i wasn't expecting a new card from nvidia for 1 year at least, that's surprising

by the time 7900 go realeased we'd have DELL Inspiron 9500 or E1706

Those cards will be available in retail as long as supplies last and it is clear that Nvidia and its partners want to clear the inventory.
Does that mean that we no longer will be able order for a replacement 7800 go GTX after the supplies are cleared out? What if my current 7800 go GTX goes bad?

I don't know, something just doesn't seem right about this. It'll be pretty awful if the 7900 series doesn't fit into our 9300.

from what i understand nvidia is only making the 7900gtx in the desktops to beat the 1900xtx. thats why they made the 7800gtx 512, so they could beat the 1900xt
