not bad at all. You will really love this laptop. I have been using mine for some time now and its still my favorite laptop. Portability, quality, and functionality are all awesome on this thing. Congrats.

Thanks... i had this revelation last night after returning my second Acer 8204 due to issues... now I am not bashing it by no means...Its a great laptop but for 2500 it should come out of the box without any major flaws...I have heard nothing but good things about IBMs so I decided to give it a go... I can say this... the sales consultant on the phone I talked with was nothing short of great. Up on all the products and very plesent to talk to... kudos to them... just the fact that it was an english speaking person is huge in my book... again not that I have a problem with that but for sales... its a must...

Hi euph_CF. What are your issues with Acer 8200? I am curious with them. Acer 8200 was in my shopping list but I finally chose T60 because T60 is lighter and has longer battery life. If T60 won't be shipped on time (ETA, March 13th) I may have to choose another duo core computer. So I want to hear issuses of Acer 8200. I only know it had NIC card problem but it had been solve.

Hi noesis. When did you ordered the T60? What was the ETA and actual shipping date?

Check out the acer forum... mainly the peer to peer support one... NC card issues... which are fixed... memory speed and not being shipped with the correct speed, my GPU emitted a loud whine when running 3d Stuff as well as the screen not being very bright...and it was a 15.4 widescreen... not the most fun to carry around daily. Again I really liked it but too many issues for me...

my ETA is april 4....

I currently have the thinkpad t43p 2668h2u (model number). I bought it the day it came out in feb of last year. But i have been with the company for years (bought my first laptop and my first desktop from them back in the aptiva days). And personally i believe that ibm (lenovo now) makes the best laptops hands down and i would even include the boutique vendors like alienware<-have the area 51,,16 inch screen version one). The t60 is something i have been looking at for some time now but i believe my next ibm laptop will be a widescreen version). My t43p is my business lappy, in other words i trust its reliability above all my other laptops. Two things: the keyboard is completely awesome and the quality of the case is waaaaaaaay above whats currently on the market.

Last thing. You will be happily surprised that every ibm item i ever bought just works right out of the box. Basically ibm's work and are hassle-free. My dell 700m while glitch free was a pain because i couldn't get the wireless card to work until i tweaked the registry. Plus i had to take it apart to make sure everything was connected. With the ibm never worried about such things.

Hope this helps.

You will. Plus the flexview 15 inch screen with the uxga resolution is a beauty. if you upgraded the battery to the 9 cell than expect to get about 4 hours of actual use time..You might also consider the port replicator. I use it and it works flowlessly. Just plus all your stuff into it and when you snap your lappy in everything turns on. Its very nice.

I believe it does come with the 9 cell... the port replicator is huge.. i have one now for my dell and before that for like 5 toshiba's... the acer dock was ok but NO on/off switch?!?!?! What use is that? you want to come into the workplace and just plug your laptop in, closed, press power on the dock and work... no open the laptop, press the power button, quickly close it, plug it in... etc etc

Actually i use it at home to synchronize my laptop with all my other junk. to me its more convenient than plugging in usb's and printer and monitor and network cable each time i need to use my laptop at home.

Hey euph_CF, what is your expected shipping date for your T60p 200794U? I called Lenovo yesterday and got an estimated shipping date of 3/24. I haven't ordered it yet but I might pull the trigger today.
