New here and looking forward to the little blue machine...I ordered mine last week so I guess i'm in for the Phase rollercoaster!! Yup, phase 3 is complete..they have my money! :-)

Damn that was fast. They built mine fast too so maybe they are just cranking them out faster now or something. I was getting worried that they built mine too fast.

OK this is ridiculous.....

The only difference between this order and my order is the chip. Mine has been in Phase 8 since Wednesday and in Production for 3 weeks. HELLO? What the heck is going on here?

Edit: ok video card is different too, but the big holdup was supposed to be the displays.

And I am a tad concerned that mine has been stuck in quality control. I hope that doesn't mean that something was wrong with it.

congrat's Aqualung... your joy only pisses me off more.

I ordered first week of February, and I'm still in Phase 8 (it's been friggin' 6 day's in phase 8)... and the supposedly oh-so-helpful CS people talk about the QC phases like there is magic going on by elves and they don't speak the same language, so they can't get any more info on it.

This machine will need to fold my laundry and empty the dishwasher in order to reduce the frustration incured from Alienware's build process.

Got it last night!! Wow!!!! What a sight!!!! Didn't have much time to play with it..but the screen is absolutly Gorgeous!!!! It's got ports all over the place..SD,USB's,Firewire...Camera on top of the screen! I made the mistake of ordering it Raid 1 so I'll have to wipe it and reconfigure to raid 0.I did not want to hold the order up.Tonight I load up Half-Life and Doom3!!!

Sorry about your order,i'm sure there is a viable reason why it's still waiting.

So after talking with them again... I'm back in Phase 5 (crap).

No reason, but "nothing's wrong"...whatever. Should ship "by the end of the week"... again, whatever.

I really hope this isn't representative of my post purchase CS experience.

I Feel bad that my first post is kinda mean but i agree with you here.. i placed my order on 3/2 and it stayed in phase 1 till today.. i talked to them a couple times this week and they have some of the worst run around stories i have ever heard.... the reason it moved out of phase 1 today is because i called and the girl tried to give me the same story everyone else did.. and then i got angry and said "wtf.. it cant possibly take you that long to process payment from and alienware credit card that i have had since January.. fix now and call me back in an hour" an hour later she called back and said the problem was fixed and she apologized for the inconvenience... i hope the rest of the processes are not that far delayed... i must say i am so far not enjoying my frist experience with alienware... i hope they continue on a good path now

Well I got my beautifull mj12-7700a. Worth the wait.

I finally talked to a rep (Gus) that actually told me what was going on (which is all I wanted), and it ended up going back into production after living in Phase 8 for almost a week (this wasn't reflected on my order status page).

Alien ware was big enough to ship it 2-day, so I actually got it B4 I was expecting... but still late by 8 day's.

Although my ordering experience wasn't great I'm pretty sure my user experience is going to make up for it. It's only been a couple of hours, but this is a great machine in every way so far...

...my only complaint is that the power, battery and wireless LEDs on the screen bottom are so bright they are bothering my eyes (REALLY!)... any way to dim these???
