Toshiba Satellite A105 or M45

Hi,

I have been checking Toshiba laptops for a while, and I really confused about what's difference between these 2 models.

The spec. I have checked as following,

A105-S2716( $1249.99 from toshiba.com )
Intel Pentium M Processor 740 (1.73 GHz) / 1024MB PC4200 DDR2 / 100GB HDD (5400rpm, Serial-ATA) / 15.4" Diagonal Widescreen/ DVD SuperMulti (+/-R double layer) drive

M45-S359 ( $1399.99 from toshiba.com)
Intel Pentium M Processor 760 (2.0GHz) / 1024MB PC4200 DDR2 / 100GB HDD (5400rpm) / 15.4" Diagonal Wide-screen XGA Display / DVD SuperMulti (+/-R Double layer)

seems the only difference is just the cpu speed. I wonder any other difference between these 2 series. I also have seen some discussion about the battery issue in A105. Does it happen in M45 too??

Toshiba has very detailed spec sheets on their website...

For the A105-S2716 it is located at...

Hard to say which is more reliable since the A100's only came out about a month or so ago and there's not that many on the market yet (but is does seem to be selling well). The M40's seem to have been pretty good. I haven't seen many complaints about them in here, even after the refresh to DDR2 and SATA hdd's a few months back.

Battery Issue A105 Series

What was/is the battery issue with the A105 series notebooks. Has the issue been resolved? My sister just purchased the A105-S2716.

Battery issue? All I've heard about are complaints of rather short battery life which is to be expected from a 4 cell battery.

Hello, I have an A105-S2712 and have no complaints what so ever . It's thin, few weight and the battery lasts about 2 hours and 1/2 listening to music , chatting and navegating. Soon I'll will post some pics in the photo gallery section. Excuse my english, I'm from Venezuela.

M45 Series doesn´t have Serial Ata (SATA) hard disks, while A105 Series does.
