Did I get the right RAM for my 9300?

Hey. I bought two 1GB RAM modules from Newegg and they installed fine. Recognized with no problem; I now have 2GB of RAM in my 9300. The thing is, I just don't notice a huge difference between this and my original config: 512MB (2 x 256MB). I mean there's some difference, but I'm not sure it's $160different!

I really think I bought the right stuff. Here are the specs for the modules I bought:

Gigaram, 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM
Capacity 1GB (each)
Speed DDR2 533 (PC2 4200)
Cas Latency 4
Timing 4-4-4
ECC: No
Unbuffered
Heat Spreader No

So, did I miss anything? Are the RAM specs above the right ones for the i9300? Thanks a lot.

If you play Battefield 2 you will notice a difference. Or if you use Photoshop a lot, or other memory intense programs. You wont notice a difference only browsing the internet and checking email.

Yah, I know that. I use Finale (music notation/sequencing/printing software) a bunch, and it's extremely processor-intensive. I haven't noticed much of a difference with it. On the other hand, the latest version of Finale is said to be a real dog, so perhaps even 2GB of RAM can't help it.

I think the most processor-intensive thing Finale does is make use of software samples (VSTs) to play back the music. It sort of emulates MIDI, using the computer's own processor/memory to store the "sounds". Just seems to be a lot of latency to me. I thought the RAM upgrade would make it feel snappy, but hmm...maybe it's the 9300's sound card (SigmaTel C-Major Audio) that's the bottleneck. Maybe my next attempt will be for the Creative Audigy PC card sound card??

Thanks for the reply.
