I'm in the UK [I'm chinese though, not english] myself, I just liked to say.
But just browsing around, when I went to check my order, it's at Phase 3. So out of curiosity [and boredom], I decided to head to the american site, [www.alienware.com] and browse around configuring a laptop just for fun and to see how much it costed in US $.
But to my surprise, I felt SERIOUSLY left out
There was SEVERAL more options to go for in the Alienware Laptop configuration page. Bluetooth cards, an optional sound card, game packs, bags, all sorts of stuff
, extra storage, too many to list.
If you guys head to the Alienware.co.uk site, you will know what I mean. Go configure a laptop just for fun, you will see how limited my options were when I configured and brought mine. Even though I had an option between the Nvidia and ATI card,
So, now with all the "additional" features/stuff that I saw you americans get, does that mean I can potentially get them too? Like the additional storage drive, bluetooth cards. E.G. The Bluetooth PCIMCIA Type II card Adapter --> WOuld I have to open up my case to put it in?
NOTE: [I feel proud about this]
I contacted Alienware over a matter on their site. On both .com and .co.uk sites, where you can configure your laptop :
Area-51m Case with 16.1" UltraXGA 1600x1200 LCD Display
Area-51m Case with 15.4" WideSXGA+ 1680x1050 LCD Display
This information is WRONG
. When I contacted them to confirm the correct sizes, one of the e-mails said that they will change it straight away. And within moments, on the UK site, it's changed to:
Area-51m Case with 16.1" UltraXGA 1600x1200 LCD Display
Area-51m Chassis with 15.4" WideSXGA+ 1400x1050 LCD Display
... as the correct information.
Now, owners of the 15.4 screen in the US, you can potentially SUE Alienware under The Trade Descriptions Act 1968 for supplying false information
