hi, looking for help, just received replacement for my 9400 with bad lcd, and new one looks exactly the same, once windows starting, black background is NOT black, looks like fog on top of the screen, also colours aren't too sharp, is it normal with this truelife screen?

have you seen screen quality made by others, like sony or toshiba, comparing to ones, my one looks like shit, like LCD's from stoneage

what i found makes a good difference is to use the nvidia brightness control instead of the dell fn+up/down. seems to make the colours less washed out for me.

have a fiddle with it, along with the fn+up/down i'm sure you can get a better (although still not perfect) quality dark image.

crt wasn't and isn't bad at all, and having seen first lcd, I can say that it was something called stone age for LCD, as well as amber crt monitor, if anyone has seen or remember one

and yes I'm fiddling around with settings, problem is:

as you can see on picture with this glowing at the bottom of screen

I have alot of leakage but not as bad as that pic... Also the default colour scheme is to bright I have found out, the colours look washed out and to bright so I lowered the brightness in the nvidia colour scheme to what I like. Still think it's off but it doesnt bother me alot.

I haven't really noticed the light leakage problem so far, maybe you could send it back for a replacement?
Change to a white background, Then you can't see it

DONT WORRY ABOUT LEAKAGE....

on my D810 it took about 4 to 6 month to get rid of this problem... dont ask me why, but 90% disapear with time

Have you left it onovernight yet? Just use it. Mine was heaps worse than that.
