Audio Driver for UK Inspiron 9400?

Hi all,

I got my inspiron 9400 today, marvellous. So promptly went and reinstalled windows XP pro (didnt want MCE and all the other stuff installed on there). Now I've managed to get drivers for pretty much everything working appart from audio.

I've downloaded the "SIGMATEL STAC 92XX C-Major HD Audio Driver" and tried to install it, but it fails, giving me a message about

"This system does not support the driver you are attempting to install".

Can anyone tell me where I can get audio drivers for the UK Inspiron 9400 please?

download it from dell file name R114075.EXE it works with my 9400 and XP pro

That's the one i downloaded and doesnt work for me Is yours a UK machine?

hi again, do you see your sound card as missing device within device manager? if yes, try to install one using "update driver" but if you can not see one as missing device, try install chipset drivers, it sometimes helps, let me know abvout your progrogress

Well I gave up last night, and this morning reinstalled XP again (yey), i'm not sure if i just installed things in a different order or didnt do windows update this morning but the sound card has now installed.. yey
