This game runs fine on my P4 3.4, MR9700, 1G laptop, so you shouldn't have any problems with it. If you're using a 5700, you need to use AW drivers. I've read that other drivers cause issues with the platform and the 6800 go.

If it's a 7700, make sure the game is patched to the latest version, and you have the latest drivers. You might try removing the old drivers with a driver cleaner, and doing a fresh install of the drivers...

You can also go to the GTA website. There's lots of help there if this is the only program you're having issues with.

ive done a fresh install of windows and used all the drivers from alienware. it is a 7700. The game is patched all the way. Dont know why im getting the hiccuping issue but this lappy has gone through a graphics card, motherboard, lcd, and hard drive replacement. Ill check out the gta website and thanks for the help

could possibly just be the game...? if memory is correct its just a port from console....

i know there are frame rate issues sometimes with games that are ports (see GUN, great game... shocking port).

Obviously others would experience this too.... but it doesnt sound like a hardware problem... sounds like software so its the OS, the drivers, or the game in my opinion...?? good luck regardless
