They're out of LCD screens omg! It's the end of the world! The ecocomy is ruined! .... seriously though wouldn't it really suck if their computers crashed and they lost all our information? The alienware forum would just become empty due to all the suicides.

That would be sad....but most company's keep back ups of back ups for security and reliability reasons. So no worries

Dear Alienware Goddess,
I want my computer! all this down time is making me sad...

.

That only took 5 minutes. Damn and still in phase 3.
lol that was funny to watch

anyway i'm also in Phase 3 limbo. I agree with the person who said we shouldn't wait this long for a laptop. it's really wiered AW do not have a large stock of these components considering how much they earn (we paying ALOT for these babies) and the demand for their products.

Let' hope my order starts moving this week or i go nuts
post #67 of 280
For those of us that have been waiting since late jan/early february -- I'd assume we are all in the same bunch that will be filled with the next shipment of their 1920x1200 displays.

Can anyone get a confirmation of when they expect to receive these screens?
Some good news. I just talked to AW and they said they are only waiting for the case and it should arrive this week so hopefully i have my alien baby with me within march HOPE HOPE.

msduncan: i have also ordered the same screen and according to the CS they have all parts for my order so you should be fine
post #69 of 280
Sheesh.... I really just can't tell anything from calling AW. I talk to some people who say I'm waiting for the display.... the next time I call they well me I'm not waiting on anything, and that my system is actually farther along than I thought..... then the next time they tell me something completely different.

Bottom line is: I'm clueless. I guess maybe that's good? At least I'm not obsessively checking FEDEX.com .

I got this e-mail over the weekend =(, I'm sure some of you all will or already have received the same e-mail

Wow that really really stinks. I'll have to check my email when I get home.

=(
Hey Yang88She,

Did you get this email in response to an emailed request for status or do they send it automatically?
Question, guys:

I know when you make an order change it delays your order. However, if you call to get a price adjustment or add something like a backpack to your order, does it STILL delay your order?
Yeah I got the e-mail automatically, and I'm pretty sure any modifications to your order will add delays.

but i don't know this for sure, but from my experience and from what I've read of other member's experiences I recall them going through delays
post #75 of 280
Ok I won't touch it then!

I just noticed that the backpacks are $65 on the site when you are going to build a computer -- but if you go to the gear shop they are $145.

I really wanted one of those backpacks! But I definately don't want to wait for a delay in my already long-order-time.

I just moved from phase one to phase three, after fighting with AW finace department for over a week... I just spoke with the sales people/order status people and "Jennifer" told me the ship date is March 6th... But I got the cheap screen and alot of you are waiting for the kick as* screen...
Strange i did not get any email yet. And also when i talked to them yesterday they did not mention any delivery about the screen, only about the case.
But it seems they are really not in sync with each other becouse later i talked to a technical guy and accoring to him everything was in stock so who do you believe

I see many ppl ordering the FX-60 CPU. Just wondering if you know how much better it is compared to 4400+ ? i choose 4400+ due to the simple fact that i believe i get less heating problem and that the 4400+ dualcore is extremly fast (got a desktop 4200+ x2 which is incredible).
Also thinking if there is such a huge different it should be possible to change the cpu myself later on when it's at the same price range as todays 4400+ cpu's. the price different 842 pound is huge i think and not sure if you really will use the CPU to the max. I'm gonne game alot on this laptop so the 7800 GTX should handle the most part of the heavy work i think

Please share your thoughts with me really intressted.

EDIT: just came across some intressting article:

the difference between the (Athlon™ 64 FX-60) and (Athlon™ 64 X2 4800+) is not that much big. Athlon 60 FX-60 = 2.6 GHz and Athlon 64 X2 4800+ = 2.4 GHz.

they 64 FX-60 usually has about 10 fps max more than te 4800+ on most games.

I spoke with AW tonight and i was told my system would be
in shipping stage on the 3rd.
I will believe it when i see it.
I told him that many people are waiting for the same thing,
and he tried telling me that each componet is built special
for each customer.
Boy was he blowin smoke.
