I'm using DVDFab. It's been working great. It does it all with a few clicks at the start. It rips and burns directly from DVD to temp file to DVD-R without any intervention from me. If a "backup" (hehe) requires more than one DVD-5 disc then I gives me the option to select which chapter I want to split at. When the first (of two) DVD is completed it pops the tray and asks for a second blank disk to complete the burn.
It has a Wizard applet which makes picking options very simple. For instance if the source files will fit on one DVD-5 the Wizard will block out all other burn options and notify you that the main movie and all the extras will fit to one disc.
If the main feature will fit to one disc but not the extras, the wizard will enable the options to copy only main feature with or without subtitles to one disc, or copy the whole source onto two discs with the extras put on the second disc.
If the main feature requires two discs the wizard will block out the choice to copy to one disc, and allow choices to copy the whole souce to two discs, or copy main feature only to two discs.
After its completed the backup, the temporary files are deleted by default.
I can burn disc to disc 'cause I have a two DVD disc setup. One plays only, the other is DVD-R writer.
BTW has anyone seen blank DVD 10 discs that we consumers can use?
Can the DVD-Rs that come on the 8890 write to a DVD 10?
The movie DVDs that are bigger than 4.7Gigs are Dual-Layer, called DVD 10. The only discs I've been able to buy are DVD 5 (4.7GB).
