INT. wireless a+b+g new issue

Thread Starter
I think I'm running the same crap Atheros mini pci card, my problem is that I can't get the software to actually stay open for more than 4 sec. Its quiet strange, but I don't think there are any (obvious) conflicts to prevent it being open. What is worse is that I can't notice the 15 wireless networks in range either by the non-functioning software or by the standard 'refresh available wireless networks' plan. It sucks big time, any advice on this... I have installed the (atheros-3.1.1.50) driver now...

If you use Windows Update it will provide a good driver for the card....
(in hardware section, called winstron something)

Yeah. Go Start > Windows Update and then when it prompts, choose CUSTOM not EXPRESS. Custom will let you get hardware and software upgrades. One of these should be what Eingang is talking about. I have the mini-PCI card as well and have no trouble with it. You don't need the card's software to run (well, not for me). There should be a wireless network tray icon. Yeah, my wireless program won't run either... actually it just froze up on me. Anyways, XP has networking made easy as long as you get ALL the updates from them.
