I'm wondering if anyone has any experience booting Windows XP Pro from a Microdrive using the 6-in-1 card reader. I'm particularly interested in experiences with the 8890 although I'm guessing this is a generic capability. If so, what is the smallest size of Microdrive that can be used to boot Windows XP Pro? I'm interested in smaller because it is cheaper. I would have an actual hard drive with my Windows applications and data on them. Also, is there any experience with booting Windows from a Microdrive and running applications that are located on an actual hard drive? If so, does booting from the Microdrive affect the runtime performance of applications that are located on an actual regular hard drive?
I'm interested in this because I am getting an 8890 that will have Raid 0 set up on the hard drive for the Primary Hard Drive and the Secondary Modular Bay Hard Drive. I am primarily a Linux user and will have Linux boot off of the Raid 0 array. I want all of my Raid 0 array dedicated to Linux. Since I can't boot off of a hard drive in the TV Tuner Bay, I'm looking at using a Microdrive to boot Windows XP and have my Windows applications and data on a 3rd hard drive in the TV Tuner Bay.
