I know theres a thread for coupons and i know this could get deleted but instead of a coupon thread how about we post who could use them. Then if a user gets one and has no use for it they can pm the ppl that can use them. Me for instance my company does have an epp page on our website, however it is updated it seams monthly and this months coupons dont even work(i think they are the coupons that worked on all systems) So if you have a coupon I can use on an XPS m170 system, and have no use for it what so ever, feel free to pm me with it. I will put it to good use.

thank you for the referral, I looked at those machines after you replied, very nice. however more $ than the dells. don't get me wrong I do get epp discounts but the coupons on our company webpage aren't working. I like to go build virtual machines on dells web page but without coupons I don't know cost. just hoping someone will drop me a coupon that works and is not crap. trying to get a machine like the one in my sig for close to 2k. I know it can be done just gotta keep looking. that coupon that was out last week would have done it, and I know some ppl have access to similar coupons regularly.

Here is something I shared in another thread. If you can get a good phone rep you should be able to get it New with 1yr Warranty Standard.

222-0258 XPS M170,PM 740(1.73GHZ) S $1,531.00

222-0258 is the SKU number, that is what you'll want to ask for when ordering. It comes with the following:

Pentium-M 740 (1.73ghz CPU)
512meg of DDR2/533 ram
6800Ultra Video
60gig 7200rpm HD
CDRW/DVD combo drive
17" WUXGA TrueLife Display

I'm not sure (without looking) of what the prices are to upgrade CPU/GPU for M170 are off-hand, but this is an option package for the XPS M170 that no longer has an attached E-Value code. This means your powers in Social Engineering will make or break whether you can get this machine.

It's just a base model XPS M170 offering the PM740 CPU and 6800Ultra. The difference of those 2 options saves you the money. Then you can get ahold of a 7800GTX on eBay/Spare Parts, or even upgrade it over the phone once you get someone to accept that SKU, and then do a pin-mod 1.8-2.4ghz.

It'll give you the best option of having the XPS M170 for the lowest cost possible. And if you ever look at some of the Dell paper mailers (if you get them in your mailbox) you'll see some 9300 E-Value codes that you should still be able to apply the current coupons to in order to get a 9300 cheap and upgrade it to XPS M170 levels.

Good luck with your hunt.

If your looking to get whats in your sig then your looking at the XPS M170 system. Coupons dont come out for them very often .. well at least the big coupons. You have 3 choices.. keep watching the Dell coupon thread, watch the coupon sites online (there are a number oif them) or buy a coupn on eBay for 2 to 5 bucks.

Most new coupons start on a Thursday or a Friday and are typically good for X number of purchases or until the following weeks coupons are released. Note that XPS coupons run out quickly!

May want to look at buying a used 9300 for around 1000.00 and doing a pinmod and added the 7800GTX to it. A few of us here have upgraded from a 1.6 cpu and a 7800gtx for less then 50.00 bucks after selling the originaly equipment. Note that the 7800gtx will not fit properly in the newer 9400.
