HP dv4000 seems slow. Whatd wrong?

I bought a HP dv4000 around Christmas time. It was fine for a while but it seems like it is getting very sluggish.

Here are the specs:

What do you think it could be? Im using 34 gigs of the harddrive and I have never seen the ram usage go over 400mb.

probably software issue. Have you been installing anything new??

Run a HDD-Self Test from the BIOS, when they start to crap out they run slower. Also, check your msconfig startup list.

As a final alternative restore your whole system, that would probably solve any problem that you are having.

Most likely spyware.
Make a spyware scan (e.g. using AdAware) and upgrade your firewall, and other security applications.

Yeah. Check spyware and disk fragmentation.
