I apologize if recently a post was made similiar to this.. i didnt spend much time looking..

IN the upper right corner of the laptop -there seems to be a buzzing that is fairly loud.. it sounds as if its coming from some sort of fan, it only kicks in once and a while.. and when it stops.. it almost sounds like its powering down.. hard to describe.. but when its off, it is unbelievably silent.. VERY VERY RARELY does this happen, just once within the past week...

Hi,

Download RightMark CPU Clock Utility and turn on "Run HLT command when OS is idle". Let us know if this works or not.

From my experience, I used RMClock 2.0 and 1.8. Both versions eliminated the buzz, however disabled stepping and leaving my T2500 running at 2ghz. Consequently, the CPU fan was constantly going on and off. Someone lemme know if there's a fix!
