What's the longest your computer has lasted on battery?

Timed it on my watch at 3 hours 40 minutes. Regular use...web surfing, taking notes at school. I have one 4 hour class a week at Arizona State... Specs in sig; this is on a 6 cell battery.

May have gotten more if I had put it in standby occassionally.

On my 700m, if you count the times I've put it into hibernation to switch to my other battery (I have the 4 and 8 cell batteries), then I've pulled a shade under 7.5 hours.

When I had my old i9100, I was lucky to get 90 minutes out of that damn thing.

Nice, I occasionally use standby...I don't like hibernate during class, takes too long to come back. Between classes I'll use it though.

I've got an XPS M140 with a 9 cell battery. I can take it to class with me and use it for 4 hours of note taking and web browsing then use it that night for a couple hours as well. I love it!

I think it's great! Perfect size for school and general mobility, great battery life, the screen is fine (I don't know what people are complaining about), nice design etc. It suits me.

Probably not the best for gaming, but I have a desktop for that. I can play older games with no problem though like Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

Yah, my old i4150 was like that too. It did have Speed Step which helped but not much. (1.6 to 1.2 GHz)

I finally decided to get the XPS m140 to complement my Dimension 310 Desktop w 20" WS FPD. Took sometime switching back from the M140 to the 710M but finally won over by the fact that the M140 has more features and has a more newer processor. i also think the screen is fine and equal to the 710M when i checked it out at the dell kiosk here in SF.

About seven - eight hours from the TX without any sort of undervolting trickery, it just seems to go on forever! Amusingly it has a higher capacity battery than even the XPS 2...as for the XPS 2 batterylife, it's doing well to get anything much over two hours.

d810, with the 9 cell main battery and the 6 cell modular battery i got 9 and a half hours using the x600. I now time it at about 6 with the 6800 go in there.

That wasn't gaming btw. That was just doing office work.

Yeah, when I really started needing my notebook in class, I didn't really have any choice besides buying a new notebook. The 700m has fit the bill perfectly.

Longest I've seen was about 3.5 hours.

Sucks you have a 4 hour class. The longest class I've had here at ERAU in Prescott was 1.5 hours.
