I will try the upload again today (April 1st) but will use WSFTP_PRO instead. I didnt have it installed and used Windows Explorer/Internet Explorer instead.
OK guys.... I am now in the process of uploading the file. It is just over 300MB zipped and the CD is actually just over 500MB, so I saved a little downloading time zipping it.

I am using the latest version of WS_FTP PRO so all should go smoothly. It didnt suprise me at all that Micro*#&$ software failed to load it.

I will keep everyone updated.

OK, here we go again. I lost power several times within the last few hours because we are having high winds and thunderstorms through the area here. Just my luck!

I am however re-uploading the whole file, so hopfully if nothing else goes wrong! - it will be done in about 2 hours.

The exact size of the .zip file is 337MB

Its coming guys! Its coming!

Based on my 90MB TurboTax DL from yesterday, that should only take me 457 minutes, give or take.

Do very much appreciate all your efforts.

Thanks,

Eagerly awaiting here too....hmm maybe a torrent should be in order.

Hey Preston,

thanks for the webspace. I don't know how you want to go about giving everyone access to this but obviously right now they would need a password.

But I figure you will post instructions in the forum.

Thanks,
Josh

Josh,

Just received it over here. I am uploading it to my webserver now. I have plenty of bandwidth there for everyone. Hold tight everyone and I will post the link.

when i download and extract the media repair file.. i don't see any .iso file. could somebody explain in detail how to make the media direct repair cd for morons like myself?
After downloading and extracting, run the exe file. This will extract the files to a folder (usually C:\dell\something). That's where your ISO is. Then use Nero or whatever to burn the image file (NOT a data disc).

Link to Download

I am not sure I am following this thread correctly, but it seems to be that the link to download Mediadirect to create your own re-install CD is here, but I can not seem to find it??

Or maybe it is not available yet???
The link for the "MediaDirect Installation CD 2.0" hasn't been posted (yet). There is a link on here somewhere, however, for the "MediaDirect Repair CD", which is located on the Dell site...

Do this:
Open Device Manager, check if any items are "!", if so load those drivers.

BTW, if you decide to deinstall Ghost it asks you if you wish to delete the 'Backup' partition. I of course said yes as I wanted to re-claim the space. Bad stupid me..... Help Guys.....
