DVD-Rom drive problem, (shaking)?

After a reformat yesturday, I decided to start reinstalling gamre today, the first one on my list "World of Warcraft" after putting in CD1 the drive starting spinning up pretty fast, so fast (I assume fast) it went past the usuall hum you hear, and went to a fisical vibrate where the entire laptop had a minor shake going on, and the hum was no longer a smooth hum but more like plastic bouncing of of plastic in a rather small yet voilent maner, after that now on CD2 and it stoped, Now I can't feal or hear anything, CD3 presented the normal sound of the hum.

I called tech support and found them (or this one perticular fellow) to be very unhelpfull, He asked me how long I have had that laptop, I replied that under 3 weeks, so he told me to call sager, that they deal with the problem until the year is over , I have to be honest I completly hate responses like this.

Is it normal for the drive to make this shake sometimes?

Please forgive the bad grammar.

That happens sometimes when the CD isn't properly placed, as Doc pointed. Also, I have stumbled upon some bad quality CDs that were kind of unbalanced, which caused noise in any drive I tried.

If it does the same with many different CDs, then you prolly has a bad DVD drive.

In the 3 weeks that I have used it
Interne works great
WoW works ok, High ping, (me sandiego, server east side) very playable, no noted lag, but highish ping around 180-450
Downloads acaptable but nothing great
Other MP will probebly suck, although I havent tried it out yet.

But it is sooooooo worth it in my situation, At work, (80% of the time) I have nothing to do, Instead now, I am online and keeping myself entertained by things like making this post :O.

300Kbits to 1mbits down, 128kbits up, ping about 200+, but

I love it , it's $60 a month, and yes compares nothing to my new home internet ( 9Mb/s-Down // 1Mb/s-Up )
But it serves me soooooo well.

Definetly not for everyone though .
