For all we know you @#$%@# your computer up when you installed the card. I for one, even if I had no experience with video cards would never use a post like this one as a guide on what to buy. Just to set the record straight, I have owned EVERY version of the nVidia cards I can think of, since the company formed. I have never had a problem with any of them, they are the most compatible, widely supported video cards you can purchase. The performance is always top notch. I don't know alot about the Raedon cards, but I can tell you from past experience; ATI absolutely SUCKS when it comes to driver support. Well, that's my two cents.
These days, nVidia cards aren't any more compatible (maybe even less since they don't adhere to standards as well), they aren't faster, and their driver support is worse (nVidia doesn't release WHQL-only drivers 12 times a year). However, I will certainly admit ATI cards seem to have more problems than nVidia cards. But again, that's just subjective.
