BF2 issues

got my 9750 up and running, it's been great thus far up until Battlefield 2.
I have the 83.90's from laptopvideo2go.com installed and when I try to run BF2 the screen goes black for a bit then just comes back to desktop..

I've tried installing Nvidias official mobility drivers(will not install on this system).. tried Omega drivers(do not support 7800GTX from what I can tell).. used driver cleaner pro and have come back to the laptopvideo2go drivers.. can not get anything from BF2.. sucks my most played game is the only one giving me trouble.. any suggestions? I tried getting older drivers from video2go but it seems no drivers are availble tonight.

I am having the exact same problem you are having. I have tried all screen resolutions thinking that the game might by default use the desktop res, but nothing but the black screen then the desktop. I have also tried turning on vsync like some other posts have said to do, but still no luck here.

I definatly feel your pain Misfit410 because BF2 was the first game I installed on my new rig, errrr.

I am thinking it is the LCD screen causing it from what I've read up on.. but those who have fixed it, thier fix does not work for me (adding +szx +szy with the right width and height)..

Is there a driver to anyones knowledge for the screens on these puppies? I got the WUXGA (1900X1200)

tried all of the above.. so there are people with the 9750 + WUXGA that are running BF2 just fine? if so what drivers are you using?

Just wanted to add, used an external monitor and the game fired right up, hoping I can set up the video settings with this monitor and get it going.. if anyone knows if there are official drivers for the screens on these please let us know, I am thinking they could help.

Hmmh...this information should go as a FAQ for Sager 9750/9890 for people who play BF2 on a WUXGA screen.

Okay, in your My Documents-> Battlefield 2 -> Profiles you should have a number of folders. Each folder there is a video.con

If you are running a WUXGA, you need to update the video.con line as follows:
VideoSettings.setResolution 1600x1200@61Hz

Note the 61Hz

This should get you into BF2 and the SF booster. You can see my sig for my system spec and I am running the laptopvideo2go 83.90 driver with Patch 1.12 and Patch 1.2 installed.

BTW, you should not need to set the Vertical Sync to YES if you have Patch 1.2 installed but if you get the temporary random freezing and unfreezing after an extended period, you should then set the Vertical Sync back to "ON" (not Application Controlled).

Hope this helps...and enjoy !
