6 degrees celcius, not sure which is right, but i do know ive heard nvidia's had driver issues and temp reporting wrong. so i assumed the other was right.

is there a such program that shows the voltage on the card?

Well, I'm not sure either, but I'd rather err on the side of caution. That's just me, not trying to criticize anyone.

either way my stock recorded temps were actually higher than with overclock + fan speed set high.

I definately have to get I9Kfan, I don't like the idea of my temp spiking, then the fan kicking on to cool it. Maybe on Friday I'll have time.

I wonder if the light on his power brick actually went off or if the BIOS read the situation as a surge and disconnected to battery power only.

Thats really no problem - everybody in Germany should understand you - English is taught to the pupil in every school - even in East Germany - no panic!

I live in a rural area - the next big city is "Gunzenhausen" in the "Fränkischen Seenland" - i study "electrical engineering" (i hope i wrote it correctly ) at the Friedrich Alexander university in Erlangen near Nuremberg. Because of that im not often at home in the moment.
German sometimes isnt easy to understand because of the thousands German dialects - Not every German could easily understand a real bavarian speaking, e.g.

Greetings from Germany
bye

ran 470/900 all last night no problems, today it keeps overheating...had to reduce clocks.

Ambient room temp was probably higher today. Just a guess.

would underclocking massively reduce power consumptoing?

My repaired 9400 is going to be here tomorrow. I guess it wasnt my fault that the mod didnt work, my motherboard was faulty. I called Dell, they said they thought it was just the video card, but apparantly the motherboard had some power stability problems, they suspect a faultly p/s so they're sending me a new one. So:

New video card
New mobo
new p/s

I'll probably give it another shot after, that way I can claim right away incase something happens.

i got pretty much the same 9400 you got except i got 80 gig 7200 not 60.

did you get the best wi-fi and bluetooth?
wow, that was a quick turnaround for Dell.

I know, just sent it out Mar. 1st and tomorrow is the 3rd.

Oh trust me, I laid into the guy on the phone, they sent the box to my home, and I asked for it to be sent to my work. My landlord signed, which I knew she would. So I made a huge deal about it and the guy said, "Ok, notify me as soon as its sent out, in any safe/suitable box and I'll make sure it gets taken care of ASAP." So I gave him the tracking number.

I love yelling over the phone to complete strangers. It took an hour and half but worth it.

Ya, I got the Intel wifi, but no Bluetooth, I dont have any Bluetooth devices or plan on buying any. The Intel wifi is nice, no problems, just disabled all the startup programs and services and use windows built-in. I seen "Dell Wireless..." and said ok, no thanks...

lol, i just got bluetooth so if i ever want something bluetooth i dont have to add the card later.

i bought the xp disk for the extra $10 and did clean install, made it an awesome system.

Yep same here. When it took 10 minutes just to load windows to point where I could use it, then I seen Norton popup, I restart and put the Windows disk in. I too ordered the Windows XP Pro disk to for $10. Since I dont have a good copy. I have a Windows XP Home SP1 (Compaq) Windows XP Home SP2 (Acer) and Windows XP Pro Org. (burnt slipstreamed to SP2) I figured I should just get a Dell verison with SP2.

after the MOD, in Cinebench9.5 the hardware OpenGL went from 2958 to 3654, about 20% increase. The temp from I9kfan peaked at 61. So whether this is worth the effort really depends on your personal need. But thanks to the iso file, it's almost too easy to mod....
just for reference, my Athlong64 X2 3800+ w ATi X800XL scored 3078, and 3648 when OC to 2.2GHz
will update when I get my X850 XT.
Now, who can help on OC the CPU....
after all my tests it is clear that the e1705 has inadequate cooling.

i took my old cpu fan put the laptop on its side, and placed the fan under the video cooling fan so it would blow more air, i maxed my settings and it didnt get over 74, where as before it would throttle.

anyone know if you can get a different fan? or increase its speed? change fins?

lol i live at the french border and know what you mean i cannot stand them either, though my best friend is french. and the turkish people are really cool, but not the turkish people in germany. it's the scumbag from turky that's coming to germany. jobless, brainless morons. they are so damn agressive... everytime i go out at night i'm getting into a fight with those idiots. lol but they aren't strong, which is good

they all come to germany because our governement lets them come. if germany wouldn't let them in we would be the nazis again. which is total bullshit. and we even build them mosques with our tax money. imagine us building a church in istanbul lol.

the above is not racist in any way ok? turkish people are nice and honest with exception of the most turkish people who come to germany as they were losers back in turky already.

EDIT: and sorry for off topic
