The 1.2 volt iso has been posted on page 5. Im using it and manage to get to 415/890. My mem is bad and thats its limit at any voltage.

Yes sorry 3d 06 is 1280x1024.

Using the 1.2V mod I got a 3DMark06 of 3188 at 390gpu 900ram. Not bad... my max temp reached 89C though. Little scary.

That 6900 score is over the top, would you be going for the 7000??? if you would make it that gpu really deserves a rest in a glass showroom mate, it awesome to get that score on a lappie and a non GTX, tougth the 2.16 GHz core duo would make it quite inaccesible for most of us who orderes the 1.8 version jejeje, but congrats nonetheless

Well, I've purchased the AS5, just gotta work up the courage to break open the laptop and get it on there. However, what would be a good, repeatable way to work the GPU up to temp so I can compare before/after temps with the AS5?
loop a 3dmark demo over and over?
Can you do that with the free version? Also, since it loads between tests, doesn't that give a break to the GPU?
man thats crazy. my go gtx maxes out at 450 on the core and you guys get your 7800 vanilla to run at 460+ .. lol

granted mine runs at 1.11 volts

OK, guys here are 2 iso files, were you can burn a bootable cd rom and flash or rescue your bios.

1.) http://grafiknet.de/boot-cd-org-bios.iso
this file is the org bios file with no tweaked.. called rescue. burn it

2.) http://grafiknet.de/boot-cd-1-3-volt-bios.iso
this file is the tweaked bios ... but only tweaked voltage to 1,3 Volt, and no overclocking or something else..
So if this goes bad, how do I go about using one of these cds if I have no display?

curiosity is a bad thing

Anyone know? I'm eager to try this out, but I've seen this happen before where I cant get into the machine to boot from cd. I've looked at the ISOs and burnt the one, but theres nothing on them.

If I have no display, I wont be able to select the cd/dvd drive to boot from and I also cant run the program or answer "y or n" or "press enter to proceed.

If things turn sour, how would I do this blind?

@pretzel

the iso files are bootable cd files.. that you can see nothing on it. but if you boot from the resue cd and you have no screen, then you have to wait 7 sec. and then press "Y" or "Z".. dont know wich keyboard you have.
Will the system restart on it own?

EDIT: I have the normal standard US keyboard layout. I'm not sure what keyboard you mean.

Alright, I tried it and it wont give me a display but it said it worked fine. I got Complete Care but I'd rather see if I can fix it before it goes back. Any ideas? I've tried booting with the cd in, it spins up but then idles. No button seems to make a difference. I pushed f12, but I cant see anything so I dont know what to select.

Can anyone help me?\

EDIT: Should I reset the bios?

pretzel, you do understand you should practice recovering and also write down the procedure button by button for the "just in case" possibility that you may have to do it blind, right?

If anyone isn't comfortable doing this including recovery procedures, I wouldn't suggest trying this mod. I've been working on this since last night getting all my ducks in a row and writing down the step-by-step procedures for this mod. Sure, you can do this quickly and quite possibly without any negative effects, but why take the chance on not knowing how to fix it?

Yes, I still think this is a good mod, but not for those that refuse to do their research and fail to prepare for the worst.

Hey peter pan, I think you should fix up the origional post to include 1.2bios and other stuff. Then make this a sticky! We dont have any 'how-to's' in the 9400 forums yet.
This is the first guide to modding your 9400 Ive seen. (and its good)

STICKY it.

Well, I did. It went fine, I had it so all I do is restart, press f12, then enter (for number 1) to boot from cd, when the cd stopped accessing I would then push y. But the cd doesnt access now like it did. Before it would spin up, then idle, then when I push enter on the boot screen it would load up the cd, now it doesnt do anything. Just the initial spin up.

Can anyone tell me what the bios default is on the boot screen to boot to cd/dvd drive? Maybe that'll work.

No worries, if worst comes to worst I'm just RMA it. Not that big of a deal. I was just hoping to curcomvent that.
