Core Duo running on XP Home (no SMP support)

Thread Starter
I've seen the currently available Core Duo laptops from Dell, Toshiba and Gateway shipping with XP Home installed.

Isn't that a bit completely, totally messed up because XP Home doesn't support multi processor?

So, what gives?

That's a pretty odd move from the manufacturers.

Home supports On Physical Processor. A core Duo is ONE Physical processor (One Chip) with two cores (just like it supports Hyper-threading) With pro, you can have two Physical Processors.

This is How I understand it.
